A lot has happened in the past week, but mostly just boring, non-blogger stuff. Not that I'm not interested in that stuff, mind you. But when you've been gone, and then you return after many long months, and there are dead spots in your day where you were just outside of view, a good bit of the life and events that happened to you begin to lose some of their flavor. You can't taste them, you don't see the details, and it just starts to seem like all that has happened was just part of some bigger saga -- as if you had gone to bed with a friend one night, and woke up with her on a different continent. It becomes harder to remember the girl you were and when, if that makes any sense. But now that you're back, I feel it's time I write a bit of an update on everything. Right now I'm back at work. I never do anything during the summer, for vacation, so I've been wasting all my free time in a job that barely feeds me. :-P But I'm glad to be at work, and I'm glad I'm here, and I'm grateful for the opportunities that have fallen into my lap. No, there's no real story to this one. As usual, I thought I could try something different and take a chance, and now I'm back to my basic formula. As it always is. But I think it turned out OK. :-D I'm not sure what else I can say about it. A lot has happened since I last wrote. I'm still here in Chicago, where I've been for a little over a month now. Where I'm supposed to be until August, when the Greek trip begins. There are a couple of things to note. First, I'm still going to see the American Cancer Society fundraiser this Saturday, April 22, at the Chicago Hilton (www.chicagohilton.com). I've been a little reluctant to talk about this for fear of making people insecure about my health. But I think I have to. I think it's time, and I hope the people who read this will understand why I feel like it's time. There are a few reasons I don't want to get into this. First, I know I have a lot of friends who are close to me and know how much I hate needles and how little I like hurting people.
